Phoenix scorch Pirates (7 May 2012) The Pirates' hopes of a second successive trip to a Bowl game suffered a minor setback at the weekend, when the team travelled south to take on Tamworth Phoenix. The teams had only met on two previous occasions and the series record stood at one win each. The most recent meeting was in the 2010 Division 1 Final, when Tamworth defeated a disappointing East Kilbride side 35-14. This time round, the Midlands team again seemed to hold the hoodoo sign over the Pirates, who once more failed to play to their normally high standards. Pirates batter Bulls in season opener (30 Apr 2012) The Pirates opened their 2012 campaign in the premier division with a convincing win away to old rivals the Birmingham Bulls on Saturday. The Scots started strongly, scoring on all of their first three offensive possessions, with running back Iain Dick running in the first touchdown after a 65 yard drive. Pirates win senior team of the year (30 April 2012) The Pirates were delighted to win the Senior Team of the Year category for the second time in a row at this year's East Kilbride Sports Personality of the Year Awards, organised by the East Kilbride Sports Council. The Pirates are proud supporters of the Sports Council and we'd like to congratulate all the other winners and finalists on their success.
