You can also find out more about joining the Pirates in our new player information pack.

Coaching

The coaching staff at the Pirates is comprised entirely of volunteers and in order to support the team and continue to develop as an organisation, we need to be bringing through new coaches all the time. We hope to soon be able to offer Junior and Youth American Football, which wil require new blood in our coaching ranks.

You don't need to be Vince Lombardi to help out, just a basic understanding of the sport and the necessary skills to deliver information and help make our players the best they can be. The Pirates will fund all new coaches through their British American Football Coaches Association (BAFCA) Level 1 certification and support them in attending the annual BAFCA convention.

If you're interested in becoming a coach with the Pirates, contact Head Coach Andrew Mackintosh via info@piratesfootball.co.uk

Volunteering

Running a team from year to year is a job that takes the time and effort of a lot of people. The Pirates are always on the lookout for willing volunteers to do whatever they're capable of - from design to flyering and postering to just about anything you can think of! You don't need to be able to offer a huge amount of time, even a few hours here and there can make a difference.

In particular, making game days a special event for spectators is important and if you can spare a few hours to lend a hand with the set up and running of these, your contribution would be welcomed. To help out in any way, contact headcoach@piratesfootball.co.uk.
