Text a donation today and become a Britbowl bus booster!
August 15th, 2016
We still need your help. Yesterday’s fantastic semi-final win over Manchester Titans for our juniors means both our Pirates youth and junior teams are now heading to compete for a British title within the next three weeks. This takes our Britbowl campaign bus bill to over £3,000. Please help us by donating a fiver or tenner by text and become a Britbowl bus booster!
The East Kilbride Pirates youth team for players aged 14-17 are heading to youth Britbowl in Sheffield on 3 September, including an overnight stay. And our junior team for players aged 16-19, are travelling to Worcester for the junior Britbowl final in Worcester on Saturday 26 August, also requiring an overnight stay. We’re the first Scottish team since 2005 to make it to a British junior final!
How it works
Just text the message EKPU19 £5 to 70070 to donate a fiver or EKPU19 £10 to 70070 to donate a tenner. When you make a text donation, it’ll either be deducted from your mobile phone credit or added to your mobile phone bill – and you won’t pay any VAT on your donation. Simple!
Our campaign is being run via JustGiving text donation. And because we’re a registered Community Amateur Sports Club with HMRC, if you’re a UK tax payer you can opt to add 25% gift aid at no extra cost too.
It would be great if we could offset these expenses with your help. This means we don’t have to raid reserves earmarked for further kit or running costs, and reduces any additional expense we might have to pass on to the young players and their parents, who will already be paying for budget accommodation for the trips.
Spread the word
Please spread the word and help our teams get to Britbowl – it would be amazing if we could raise at least one third of our costs this way. So far, thanks to donations and pledges we’re now at over £600!
And if you would like to donate more than £10 please contact email@example.com or if you’re a business interested in sponsoring the youth or junior team for these trips, please get in touch with our fundraising and development officer Natasha MacKinnon at firstname.lastname@example.org
