East Kilbride Pirates U16 team

East Kilbride Pirates U16 team

Formed in 2010, we welcome all genders aged 13 – 16. We play a five-aside contact version of the sport and compete in the Scottish U16 Conference of the British American Football Association’s National Leagues against the Highland Wildcats, Edinburgh Napier Knights, Paisley Bears and Glasgow Tigers Academy.

The East Kilbride Pirates youth team most recently won the U16 National Plate Final in 2024, and previously have been Scottish Champions in 2016 and 2017, under 17 BritBowl National Champions in 2016, National Championship runners up in 2017 and under 17 BritBowl National Champions once again in 2018.

Costs and Equipment

We supply all necessary playing equipment and team uniform – all you need is suitable practice clothing and footwear and a gumshield. Player subs are £180 a year, payable by a £20 monthly standing order split across 12 months from Oct-Oct.

This covers expenses for training, tournaments, equipment and other running costs and allows us to budget across the year. In addition, parents or guardians will be required to register their youth player with the league each year for competition and insurance purposes. This currently costs £17.50.

Training

We train on Sundays from 10am-12pmat Hamilton Palace Sports Ground all year round, with a short break over Christmas.  Midweek sessions are added from April-August and venue and timings will be advised. Please email info@piratesfootball.co.uk for more information and to register interest in joining.
