Senior team tryout a success – but still time to get involved

January 10th, 2017

The Pirates senior team held their annual try out event for new recruits on Sunday, with over 25 potential players going through their paces.

Rookies started with a welcome meeting, followed by a chance to try out different football drills and skills at stations led by veteran players as coaches observed and assessed their progress.

The rookies will get the chance to impress the coaches over the next two Sundays.

At the end of this period, those participants who the coaches see as having potential and are safe to take part will return to join us for pre-season training.

Sunday also saw six graduates from our junior team make their move to senior football, joining in with the rookie day trials too.

Still time to get involved
Players who missed the senior try out event are still very welcome to come along and get involved at any point throughout our pre-season, with all new players getting three free sessions to trial for the team.

There are also plenty of opportunities for prospective players of all ages to get involved with one of our other club teams.

Our flag (11-14),  youth (14-16), junior (16-19) or women’s (17+) teams are always looking for new recruits. All kit is provided for u19s and women’s football,  – email info@piratesfootball.co.uk for more information!
